Our Notes

Dom Pérignon was a 17th-century monk, probably a real one, who almost certainly didn’t invent Champagne. It’s fun story, though, so we’ll let you decide whether to pass it on or debunk it – allegedly, Monsieur Pérignon ran to his brothers and said (in period-appropriate French, naturally) “come quickly, I am tasting the stars!”

Fast forward to the 20th century and Dom Pérignon, the masterfully crafted vintage-only Champagne named in honour of that monk and his alleged discovery, is the Champagne to the stars in the modern sense.
